MEET THE FOUNDER

Hey, I'm David!

In 2020, David was managing reconditioning for a large independent dealership in Philadelphia. Like many recon teams, he relied on pen and paper, clipboards, whiteboards, and spreadsheets to keep vehicles moving through the process. It worked — until one rainy day made it clear there had to be a better way.

After receiving a truckload of vehicles, David found himself outside with a clipboard, inspecting cars, taking notes, and test driving units in the rain. That moment sparked the idea for what would eventually become Cartuul.

David explored the recon tools already available in the market but quickly realized that none of them were built to solve the problems he faced every day. So, he decided to build his own.

He hired a developer and began creating a solution from inside the dealership, not from behind a desk. During the day, he worked in the trenches of recon. At night, he documented issues, requested changes, tested improvements, and refined the platform based on real dealership needs.

After nearly four years of development, Cartuul was brought to market in mid-2024. From day one, dealers immediately recognized the difference: a recon tool created by someone who had lived the process, understood the pain points, and built a better way forward.
